Instant Broths in Detail
For this recipe you can use instant vegetable broth as well. If you are using the broth from Knorr be aware that the products contain flavor enhancers that are considered unhealthy.

The American Knorr broth (and all other products) contains chemicals that are considered to be critical. On the USA market there is no organic version offered like in Germany which is called BIO – contains no chemicals. At least in Germany you have the option to get a non-chemical broth version. BUT the regular German broth version contains the same flavor enhancers as the US Knorr broth products.

From the USA website:
Ingredients vegetable broth cubes: Salt, modified palm oil, monosodium glutamate, autolyzed yeast extract, sugar, onion & garlic powder, corn starch, water, dehydrated vegetables (cabbage, carrots, parsley), spices, colour, disodium inosinate, citric acid.

From the German website:
Ingredients of the Knorr vegetable broth: Iodine salt, Flavor enhancers (mononatrium glutamat, disodium inosinate, Dinatrium guanylat), Vegetable (4% onions, 2% carrots, 2% celery, 1% leek, 1% tomato powder), sugar, salt substitute, Palm oil, starch, 2% carrot concentrate, flavors, Thickener Xanthan, salt, herbs (parsley, celery leaves, lovage, laurel leaves), spices (celery seeds, curcuma), milk sugar.

Ingredients Seitenbacher Broth:

Why is Monosodium Glutamate NOT HEALTHY and why you should not buy any products containing this chemical? –
