German Homemade Dark Chocolate Ice Cream

If you own an ice cream machine you should try this recipe for German Homemade Dark Chocolate Ice Cream. It’s delicious! Ingredients Homemade Dark Chocolate Ice Cream

1 bar dark chocolate (70% cocoa)
150 ml whole milk
4 tbsp unsweetened cocoa
5 tbsp powdered sugar or to taste
2 drops rum flavor or 1 tbsp dark rum
1 package vanilla sugar (Bourbon)
250 ml heavy cream

Instructions

– Chop the chocolate into smaller pieces.
– Warm the milk in a pot, and melt the chocolate pieces.
– Add cocoa and powdered sugar.
– Whisk until it’s smooth.
– Place the pot into ice water and whisk until the cream is cold.
– Beat heavy cream firm and add to the cooled off cream.
– Have it run in the ice cream machine for about 25 min.


VERSION 2

Ingredients
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup organic sugar
2 cups heavy cream
1 cup milk
1 package vanilla sugar
1 tbsp vanilla extract
rum flavor to taste – I used 1/2 tsp

Instructions
– Combine cocoa and sugar in a bowl, mix well.
– Add the milk, vanilla extract, whisk until the sugar has dissolved.
– Beat heavy cream firm. Add to the chocolate mix. With a spatula mix well.
– Refrigerate for 2 hours or overnight.
– Before churring mix again with a spatula.
– Fill into ice cream maker. Depending on what machine you use it can be from 5 -20 min.  Do the taste test!
